OUR STORY

Founder, Godfriet Keller began his career as a pharmacy technician in the pharmacy department of the Vancouver General Hospital while completing his studies at UBC. His experience at the hospital, followed by an unwavering focus on long term care, has made him an expert in servicing care facilities.

Community Care Pharmacy was established in 1989 and began by servicing 340 Long Term Facility beds. Today Community Care is responsible for over 1500 beds, partnering with 25 Long Term Facilities across the Lower Mainland. Over 80% of our business caters to Nursing Homes.

Experience, Training and Focus

Community Care Pharmacy is very much a family owned and operated enterprise. Godfriet is the principal pharmacist working side-by-side with his elder son Jason, and together they oversee five other exceptionally trained pharmacists.

While our service approach is ‘high-touch’ our operations are completely ‘high-tech’ with our system fully automated and a staff that is expertly trained.

Perhaps most important to our story, however, was Godfriet’s decision 20 years ago to focus on Long Term Care. That specialization, the invaluable experience he gained and the relationships he forged have made Community Care Pharmacy a truly unique enterprise in this particular field of health care.

Large Scale Operations with Personal Attention

We have been able to concentrate on perfecting the systems and logistics necessary to operate a large-scale medical distribution operation while, unlike massive Drugstore conglomerates, are able to provide a level of personal attention and care you could only expect from a local, family-owned pharmacy.

Our business is both highly personal, with a proven track record in longevity and continuity, as well as technologically advanced, with a state of the art drug delivery system including strip packaging and eMAR.

In the worlds of Pharmacy and LTC medicine distribution, we are the best of both.
